Questions teachers ask

4th grade FAQ

What math do 4th graders learn?

The big four are multi-digit multiplication (up to 4 digits by 1, and 2 digits by 2), long division with up to 4-digit dividends, equivalent fractions and adding fractions with like denominators, and decimals to hundredths. Add factors and multiples, patterns from a rule, measurement conversions, angles and classifying shapes.

How long does one case take?

Most classes finish a single case in 30 to 45 minutes. Each pack has five or ten cases, so one pack covers a unit's practice or a full sub day.

Are they printable or digital?

The mystery packs are printable PDFs with full answer keys, in color and black and white. The digital escape rooms run in a browser and suit a 1:1 device day.

How do students know if an answer is right?

Every correct answer matches one suspect's badge. A wrong answer matches nobody, so students know to go back and check without asking you.
