Comparing decimals and rounding decimals worksheets for 4th grade and 5th grade come together in this no prep CSI Mini Mystery Detective math pack of ten printable cases with a racing theme. It's decimal place value practice with tenths and hundredths, comparing decimals to the hundredths and rounding decimals to the nearest whole number and the nearest tenth. Use these math activities in math centers, for morning work or homework, or as a 4th grade math review. Answer keys are included.
Use this pack once your class has met tenths and hundredths. The cases run from comparing tenths through to rounding. Students match each answer to a suspect's badge and cross the name off, and each page is self-checking. All ten cases are set at a Grand Prix.

When to Use This Resource
The cases start with comparing tenths, then hundredths, then the two mixed together, before moving on to rounding. You can run the pack alongside a decimals unit one case at a time, or hand it out as a complete review once the unit is finished. There are greater and lesser pages, and the rounding cases give 5th graders a decimal place value refresher before they add and subtract decimals. It also works for guided math groups, bell ringers, test prep, sub days, homeschool, early finishers, and back to school or end of year review.
Grade Levels
Written for 4th grade, where students compare decimals to the hundredths. The rounding cases match 5th grade rounding decimals work, so the whole pack doubles as 5th grade practice or a beginning of the year math review.
