Science Mysteries
A Science Mystery is a nonfiction science reading activity with a case to solve. Students read a two-page passage on a real science topic, answer comprehension questions that draw on the text, and use each answer to eliminate suspects until one remains. The science content and the reading skill are practiced together, and a wrong answer leads nowhere, so students check their own thinking.
This collection holds 57 printable science mystery worksheets across life, earth and physical science. Grades 3 to 6 topics include animal adaptations, ecosystems and food webs, volcanoes, rocks and minerals, states of matter, the solar system, bees and pollination, and climate change. Grades 5 to 10 packs go deeper: cell theory, mitosis and meiosis, DNA structure, photosynthesis and cellular respiration, energy types and transfers, electricity and circuits, magnetism, and physical and chemical changes.
Every pack is print-and-go with a full answer key, so it fits science centers, sub plans, early finishers, reading intervention, test prep and homeschool science. Kiwiland resources carry a 4.84-star rating across more than 10,000 teacher reviews on Teachers Pay Teachers.
