This 3rd grade multiplication facts pack gives you ten CSI Mini Mystery Detective pages of math fact fluency practice, with the times tables and the division facts that go with them. It's 3.OA.C.7 multiplication and division practice, set out as math activities with a pizza parlor theme. Use the worksheets for morning work or homework, set them out in math centers, or keep a few for early finishers. There's no prep, and each case has its own answer key.
Six of the cases show the facts as pictures. Students count slices in pizza boxes, read prices off a menu board, fill in a times grid, jump along number lines and finish pizza order tables. Each answer crosses one suspect off the list. Students check their own times tables as they go, and there's very little grading for you.

When to Use This Resource
Cases 1 to 4 show multiplication as equal groups, prices, a times grid and jumps on a number line, so they fit the first weeks of your multiplication unit. Division comes in with the fact triangles in Case 5 and the codes in Case 6, and Cases 7 and 8 move on to order tables and word problems. The Olive Oil Spill sticks to the harder facts, and the last case mixes every type, which makes it a good check before a fact fluency test. A single case also works for a small group, a bell ringer, sub plans or homeschool practice.
Grade Levels
Written for 3rd grade (3.OA.C.7). In 4th grade it works as fact review at the start of the year, before multi-digit multiplication and long division.
