The Math Mysteries are designed to be done in one class period. This pack contains five area model Mysteries. At the top of each page is a story to set the scene. Students then answer the questions to narrow down the suspects and options until they have solved these daily math questions.

These area model mixed raction multiplication worksheets provide an opportunity to practice math and problem-solving skills in a more practical context. The high-interest topics in these mysteries are highly motivating for this age group and will capture their imagination.

These math mysteries are designed for 4th-grade and 5th-grade students. They could also be used with struggling 6th-grade students who need a little extra work and reinforcement in multiplication problems. I also leave some of the mysteries for my sub-teacher.
